PRESS RELEASE - SHORT

English Teacher Saves Dying World

High school English teacher Greg Park is waging war against the dark side, both in the classroom and in the world of the Nine Lands in his fantasy adventure series, The Earthsoul Prophecies. The first three books, Veil of Darkness, Cleansing Hunt, and Children of Ta'shaen have helped him reach the reluctant readers among his students by opening the way for the kinds of writing instruction that would have normally been met with a weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth. In a world where traditional literacies are falling victim to electronic mass media, getting young people excited about reading and writing is truly magical.
But the magic doesn't stop there. Brilliantly conceived, with more than six thousand years of history, The Earthsoul Prophecies is a magnificent tale of a dying world's struggle for survival and an insightful look into mankind's proven capacity for good and evil.
Critics agree: The Earthsoul Prophecies is the perfect blend of coming-of-age story and epic saga. Greg Park's vision of the fantasy genre is unique—a carefully woven tapestry of myth and magic, intense action and quiet contemplation that bring to life a world as rich and varied as our own.
Greg Park's books are available at finer bookstores, online vendors such as Amazon and Books-a-Million, or direct from the publisher at www.BladestarPublishing.com. National distribution by Ingram, Baker & Taylor, and Brigham Distributing. Veil of Darkness $26.95 (624 pgs, hardcover), Cleansing Hunt $24.95 (528 pgs, hardcover), Children of Ta'shaen $24.95 (632 pgs, hardcover).

In Veil of Darkness the Earthsoul has weakened, allowing the demon god Maeon to press his realm ever closer to the world of men. The Veil separating life from death has thinned, and evil spirits have been refleshed back into existence. Led by the dreadlord Throy Shadan, these refleshed beings have rallied their forces for one final march against the Nine Lands.
In the capital city of Trian, a secret society called The Hand of the Dark has risen in opposition to the rightful government. Sworn to Maeon, their goal is the complete destruction of the Fairimor bloodline and the death of the Earthsoul itself.
The only hope against this threat lies in the courage and strength of one young man. Heir of an ancient birthright, he must take up a Blood Orb of Elsa and use it to rejuvenate the Earthsoul before the world is swallowed in a sea of death and misery.
In Cleansing Hunt the allied nations of the Nine Lands begin preparations for a prolonged war against the refleshed Dreadlord Throy Shadan. Even now, his army is poised to enter Kelsa with enough shadowspawn to ravage the entire nation. But word has come from the south of the discovery of a lost Temple of Elderon which contains a Blood Orb of Elsa—a talisman powerful enough to heal a dying world. With his friends at his side, Jase Fairimor undertakes a dangerous and desperate journey to retrieve the Talisman before it falls into the hands of the enemy.
But there is danger even in success, for Jase's earlier misuses of the Power have him nearing the realm of the enemy. Jase Fairimor, Gifted above all others, is now the Earthsoul's greatest hope—and its greatest threat.
In Children of Ta'shaen, Jase Fairimor is stranded on the slopes of Mount Tabor with tens of thousands of Once Men between him and the Great Wall of Aridan. With his abilities severely crippled by the curse of Shadan, he must make his way out of the wasteland on foot.
Meanwhile in Trian, The Hand of the Dark's plot to overthrow the government comes to fruition. With the aid of Power- wielders, they launch an all-out attack, capturing Fairimor Palace and forcing Elison Brey into hiding. As the usurpers' hold on the city solidifies, Elison and a handful of Dymas launch a counterattack.
